The surgery premises became separated from the adjacent house which also incorporated a dental clinic. The practice became involved as occupational health physicians to businesses that later on became Pfizer Pharmaceuticals and the Irish Trade Board.
Dr Joan Macken also joined the practice. Joan has extensive GP training in Ireland, Canada and England. She also has experience in providing Woman’s health and Occupational Medicine.
Staff from that time included Joyce Nevin, Peg Burke and Esther McGarry who are all still fondly remembered.
John Mason and Michael Flynn continued to be involved with Postgraduate GP Education. John and Michael were founding members of the Irish College of General Practice, ( ICGP), and John Mason was greatly honoured to be the first President of the ICGP at its foundation in 1984.
