Membership of Royal College of Physicians 1995
Membership of Royal College of General Practitioners 2000
Membership of Irish College of General Practitioners 2007

Brian was educated in Blackrock College and University College Dublin and graduated in 1992. He completed his internship in the Louth County Hospital, Dundalk and St. Vincent’s University Hospital, Dublin. He worked as an S.H.O. in general hospital medicine in Dundalk, Navan and Drogheda before working as medical registrar in Diabetes and Endocrinology and Clinical Tutor in the Adelaide Hospital and then for a further year as registrar in Renal and Metabolic Medicine in Beaumont Hospital. By 1997 he realised that one in four call rotas were not compatible with a long life and happiness and that a career in General Practice would provide him with more than enough clinical challenges.

He worked as a registrar in Psychiatry in St. Vincent’s Hospital, Fairview and then for six months in the Paediatric Casualty in the National Children’s Hospital in Tallaght before doing his training year as a General Practice registrar in Scotland in Penicuik Health Centre and the University Health Service in Edinburgh.

On return to Ireland, he did locums in the south Dublin area before starting as partner in the Johnstown Medical Centre in 2002 after the retirement of Dr. John Mason.

Brian was involved in setting up the DLDOC out of hours coop and has been secretary of the coop since 2003. He is a representative to the Irish Association of G.P. Cooperatives.

Brian is married with three children. He is interested in cycling, football and rugby but would watch most sports if allowed.
