Conor was educated in St. Michael’s College in Dublin and then University College Dublin. He completed his internship in the Louth County Hospital, Dundalk and St Vincent’s University Hospital in 1999. He gained entry to the Eastern Regional General Practice Vocational Training Scheme of which the late, esteemed Dr Michael Flynn was a director.

Over the course of this scheme he completed posts in Accident and Emergency Medicine and Internal Medicine in the Mater Hospital, Paediatrics in Crumlin Hospital and Psychiatry in Tallaght Hospital. This was followed by a GP registrar year with Dr Liam Lacey, past President of the ICGP, in Blanchardstown.

On completion of his Vocational Training and attainment of the MICGP in 2002 he worked full time for 2 years in the Sheehan Medical Practice in Dun Laoghaire.

In 2004 Conor moved to Perth, Western Australia. He joined the Stirk Medical Group, a large suburban General Practice. Given the prevalence of sun related skin damage in Australia, he developed an interest in and had a lot of opportunity to develop his skills in minor surgery for small skin lesions requiring excision or punch biopsy.

Over his time in Perth he completed the ongoing QACPD [Quality Assurance and Continuing Professional Development] requirements of the RACGP including attendance at a 1 yr post graduate course in Womens Health. He was involved in the ongoing training of undergraduate and post graduate doctors attached to the University of Western Australia / Fremantle and having attained Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners he went on to become an examiner for the RACGP exam. He was involved in a research study with Prof Tom Brett in Fremantle.

He joined the Johnstown Medical Centre in 2008 following the untimely death of our colleague Dr. Michael Flynn. He is very active in continuing medical education and is currently Honorary Secretary of the Dun Laoghaire Faculty of the Irish College of General Practitioners.

Conor is married and enjoys keeping fit with running and swimming and has an interest following rugby and football.
