Our History

Johnstown Medical Centre has been providing specialised General Practice care to South County Dublin for children, adults and their families since 1964.

A wide range of modern, community based services allow most people to get fully assessed and treated here in our surgery, without ever needing to attend a hospital.

From 2010

The team at Johnstown Medical Centre are delighted now to formally welcome Dr Conor O’Leary as our new partner. Conor is a very skilled Family Doctor. He did his GP Training in Dublin and worked in his late father's practice in Glasthule. He went to Perth, Western Australia where he became a partner in a large group GP practice. He undertook extra postgraduate training in general practice and was involved in teaching pre and post graduate doctors. He became a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

Conor has been a huge asset to the Johnstown Medical Centre. He brings many extra skills, in particular experience in skin surgical procedures and in managing chronic diseases. We look forward with Conor to providing more innovative and efficient continuing care to our patients.

From 2008

The practice underwent significant disruptions. Sadly, in the summer of 2008, Dr Michael Flynn took ill and after a short time passed away. Tess Flynn and her family have always been a huge part of our practice and Michael’s wisdom and joviality are greatly missed.

Our patients were greatly saddened by this loss of a favourite Family Doctor.

We were fortunate that Dr Conor O’Leary was returning to Dublin from his practice in Perth at the time Michael became ill and was able to seamlessly step in to his rather large shoes.
