We have access to many diagnostic tests such as blood tests, urine tests, x rays and scans. If your doctor organises a test for you, you should ensure before you leave the surgery that you are satisifed that you have been advised how and when you are going to receive the test result.
Normally we text normal or mildly abnormal results via SMS messaging or have our practice nurse contact you.
Abnormal test results may be best followed up with a further appointment and your doctor or our nurse will either phone to discuss the abnormal result or if appropriate text to suggest attending for a further appointment.
We feel it is important that patients receive results of all investigations unless otherwise discussed with your doctor.
If you have not received your result within a week, we would ask you to phone our Nurse between the hours of 2pm and 3pm when she can give you the result. Sometimes results are delayed or very rarely go missing. Following up with us if you have not received your result insures we can avoid tests going missing or not being acted upon.
